A couple of months ago a lovely lady from the RAFA Calendar girls committee approached me asking if I could shoot some promotional photo’s for them. These ladies have been building this amazing calendar for a very long 2 years, the calendar was made in order to raise awareness and money for the Royal Air Forces Association (RAFA) and that is exactly what is has done.
I followed these ladies as they went through the process of building their calendar and I have to say they worked their butts off! They went through so much to get to where they are and it is an honour to be working with them! Unfortunately I was pregnant and had complications with my pregnancy so I was unable to help they in this amazing journey but now I am working with them on a regular basis and I am loving every minute of it!
The shots they wanted me to take were for promo reasons as they had finished their calendar and wanted to show it off so people could learn about it and purchase them. I had loads of fun photographing these lovely ladies and I even scored front page of the “Global Gateway” magazine! I must admit. I’m pretty proud of that.
The calendar girls recently had a 1940’s swing dance in celebration of the whole project and it’s success. The party was a huge success in it’s self and I loved being a part of it. I even took my studio along so people could get their portraits done in a vintage style whilst they were all dressed up, everyone loved it so as per usual I have decided to blog about it. In this article, I have included images from the promotional photoshoot, portraits from the swing dance and a few event images from the dance also.
If you would like to buy a calendar or want to know more about the girls, please go to the bottom of the page and click on the link.
Please note that not all the “vintage” photo’s are committee member but guests and people who helped with the production of the calendar and the images for use in the calendar.
