Baby Rory

Baby Rory

I would like to introduce you all to this very handsome little chap, who goes by the ever so cute name….Rory! I mean how cute! He came into my brand new studio with his family for his first ever photoshoot, although it really didn’t seem like his first. He was such a pro! After a feed and mummy snuggles he was handed over to me and we got on with it. He was such a little angel and it was such a please to work with him. He was very easy to pose and I loved that he kept smiling at me, now I know theres a debate about wether babies can actually smile or wether its just wind but I honestly think that this little fella just liked me! Well, he didn’t like me that much because every time I picked the camera back up the smile went…Cheeky or what!

This was the first studio shoot I had done since arriving and it seemed a little strange working in a totally different area. I love it though because it is much bigger than my old studio! I love my job so much and I was honoured that Rory’s mummy emailed me just days after my first ever advertisement and then chose me to photograph her baby boy. He pretty much slept throughout and even though we tried at the end they was no way we were going to get a shot of him with his eyes open. He was completely settled and there was no way I was waking him up. you know what they say, never wake a sleeping baby! It was such a shame too as I caught a glimpse of his gorgeous little eyes when he came in and wow, just stunning!

Anyway, as usual I could talk for hours…..but I won’t! :)

Here are my favourite images from the shoot.
Enjoy x

Christmas Cake Smash 2014

by

Christmas cake smash, oh yes I went ahead with it and so far so good. I am absolutely in love with the work and everyone who has been to the studio has said how much fun they have had. All of this make me one happy Katie and obviously some VERY happy children. Seeing their faces when they walk in the room to find a whole cake just for them, it amazes me every time. The instant mischievous look in their eyes as they look around to see if this is really happening. This is something you just don’t really get with 1st birthday cake smash. One year old babies just want to play with this cool thing in front of them. Older children know it’s bad to play with their food so just want to get right in their and make some crazy mess.
Although one thing that definitely surprised me was the lack of eating that was going on. One year old babies actually eat more of the cake that 5 year olds!!! That shocked me a little but hey they were perfectly happy using the cake as a weapon! I love the joy you see in their angelic little faces when they get mum or dad messy with cake knowing they can’t tell them off! Oops. Let’s call that one my bad.
I have been so, so busy lately and I really wanted to do individual blog posts but I would have at least a week between posts, so I decided to find my favourite from the first three shoots and put them together in one blog post for you all to see.

I hope you like them, Enjoy x

Ewan’s Birthday Cake Smash

by

Today I am talking about Ewan’s Birthday Cake Smash….

The gorgeous Ewan came in for his 1st birthday cake smash recently, after a little period of “why are you all staring at me” he settled into his cake smash and made a royal mess…which we love! He was fantastic, I thoroughly enjoyed watching his face light up when he tasted the cake and his expression as he enjoyed mushing and smashing the cake to oblivion.

His gorgeous smile was incredibly infectious and his gorgeously cheeky laugh really made my day, once he got in to it, his smashing skills really came out and we had loads of fun.

If you follow my blog you will know just how much I enjoy photographing cake smashes, every single one is so unique and no matter how the child reacts to the gigantic cake they are presented with it always turns out to be loads of fun.

Ewan was no exception, like most, he was a little cautious to start with. Not that I blame him… I mean…. I would be too,  if I was presented with a giant cupcake and told so smash it and make mess all whilst in someone else’s house! We spend so much time cleaning up our babies and making sure they are clear from bogies, and the remains of dinner that when we want them to get messy, they kinda look at us funny.

So….. here are my favourite shots from Ewan’s cake smash, Enjoy xEwan's Birthday Cake Smash (more…)

Elizabeth’s Cake Smash

by

Another gorgeous baby recently turned one and it was time for Elizabeth’s cake smash.  Some of you may remember Elizabeth as I photographed her last year and I won an award for one of her images.

As I keep saying to her parents, I cannot believe that she is one year old already, it really seems like just a few weeks ago she was a sleepy baby having some pictures done with her mummy and daddy.

As you are all aware, I absolutely love my cake smash sessions. I love the fact that a teeny little human is coming into my studio, being presented with a cake which is almost the same size as them and expected to just eat it and smash it to pieces.  I mean who wouldn’t want to do that, I know I would but then I am a 26 year old woman with 2 children and a big old love of cake!

Anyway, back to the gorgeous Elizabeth. Here are her images, enjoy! Cake Smash (more…)

Mr&Mrs Wain

by

I absolutely love photographing Weddings, there are so many moments that really remind you that the feeling of love is just amazing.
In September I had the honour of photographing the wedding of Mr&Mrs Wain. It was a small intimate wedding and was absolutely amazing from start to finish. The groom only turned up in a Ferrari and the bride in a blooming stunning Mercedes.

The new Mrs Wain looked stunning as she walked into the room and her husband couldn’t hold back the huge smile on his face when he saw his bride, the look of pure love and nerve all mixed up.  That is the look I always have to capture, the first look of “wow, that’s my bride.” During the ceremony I like to have a little moment were I just look around, not through my lens, and just look at the family and friends. Their faces and their reaction to what is happening right in front of them just makes you realise how right the couple are for each other.

After the ceremony we went to a beautiful little place in Burford called the Windmill Carvery. The views from the balcony were simply stunning and it was a please to photograph the Bride and groom standing on top of the hill.

I would just like to say a huge congratulations to the new Mr&Mrs Wain and I wish you a lifetime of happiness.
